In fact it should never be less than 150K, this is the minimum failure tolerance, not the average. People often get confused with what rated marks mean. 150-350 depending on the country)Įl Mariachi Minsk edited this topic 94 months ago.

Take it to a service to replace the shutter. and then you'd probably better throw it as far as possible and run :) I've heard something about having an error message on the camera screen. It's an official number I got from Canon France after I gave them my 7D to repair - the mode dial wheel broke down. Or enter a .įinally I don't take so many photos. How do you see or where to you get to see this counter.? I take approx 600 frames per soccer match, so hopefully the camera will last about 7 seasons. Magic Lantern says that the counter goes around 189000. Hi everybody, I was very scared to see the counter until I saw some answers.

"This camera will self-destruct in five seconds." I can understand checking to see if has gone over 150KĪnd then replacing the shutter if you were say off on a long expedition where repairs were impossible to make If it has gone over 150k and then you keep checking it this will not prevent the shutter from failing Why the need to keep an eye on the shutter counts ? I purchased the unlimited checking of the counts for $5.29. Just checked my count, 218,880 and still going strong. Again besides item #4, why couldn't they find these problems the first two times when it was under warranty? I'll keep you posted, just got it back waiting to shoot some sports. (4) Shutter unit was replaced because of shutter count 143582/150000. (3) Adjust exposure, focus and shutter speed.

(2) adjustments were carried out on the viewfinder assemble and AF sensor. (1) viewfinder assembly was out of position causing the auto focus to operate improperly. they couldn't find it after the first two times I sent it back. This is the third time I sent it back and yep you guessed it, the first time out of warranty and they found all the issues.
#What is a high shutter count skin
Pictures are coming soft, skin tones look like they went though that portrait software that gets rid of acne. I have been having issues with this camera since day one. I purchased my 7D in Aug 2011 and I have a shutter count of 602 right now. It self destructs in 30 seconds after giving you a verbal warning. I was surprised when the body can work properly with the number of shutter count being 3 times larger than Canon recommended. I still using it for my video production. Fortunately it was under warranty at the time. The reason is that my 450D was rated at 100K clicks, but it needed replacement at fewer than 19k. Those high number are encouraging, but I won't count on that. My old 1D mark II has 560,931 actuations (I'm its third owner) on the shutter now and it's still going strong being well over 200% of its life expectancy, I am sure you don't need to worry much. Call them maybe? Either way what I gather it's not too bad cost wise and is quite routine. The higher prices I'm seeing are for the 1D shutter, which I'm sure are more expensive. I think it's somewhere between $200-$400. just send in to canon and they can put in a new one. It's a very solid camera an I won't be surprised if some 7Ds get close to a million shutter actuations. Some weekends I'll shoot 10K+ in a day while doing HDR time lapse photography.ġ50K is just what Canon says you can expect and just a performance target they set.
#What is a high shutter count plus
I shoot every day and it has never missed a beat.Įxcited to reach 150k plus so the tits goes up. I got my 7D in January of 2011 and have 179,915 on the shutter. Is there anyone here reached their maximum shutter count for Canon 7D? What will be the effect to the camera? can this still be use? sorry amateur here.
